There have been another 74 deaths reported from coronavirus, bringing the UK’s death toll – as of Saturday – to 46,193.

The figure includes deaths in all settings, including hospitals, care homes and the wider community.

Meanwhile, beach resorts in England were described as ‘absolute madness’ this weekend by people on social media, as thousands gathered to enjoy the sun.

Street marshals patrolled the streets in Cornwall on Saturday after authorities in Brighton and Bournemouth pleaded with people to stay away on Friday.

It comes as new data shows coronavirus infections are on the rise across England for the first time since May.
