Another 17,234 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK, bringing the overall total count – as of Tuesday – to 634,920.
Figures released yesterday revealed another 143 people died with the virus in a 24 hour period.
Meanwhile, the Government’s new three-tier restrictions have come into place in England, with Liverpool being the only city currently placed in the highest tier.
Pubs and bars not selling meals will now be closed, while residents face strict rules on social mixing.
