A hospital has said the number of coronavirus patients they are treating is ‘far beyond’ what it was during the first wave, after it saw its largest daily rises ever.
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust said on Monday that they had 96 coronavirus inpatients that day, 18 more inpatients at one time than they had earlier this year.
The news comes as another 102 died from coronavirus in the UK yesterday, with another 20,890 cases.
This brings the Covid-19 death toll to 44,998, while the total number of confirmed cases is now 894,690.
