The coronavirus vaccine being developed at Oxford University is working well and has been shown to produce a ‘strong immune response’ in volunteers, studies show.

The news comes just days after a 28-year-old volunteer in the Oxford trial died ‘as a result of complications from Covid-19’ on Thursday.

Meanwhile. South Yorkshire joins the likes of Liverpool, Manchester, and Lancashire in a tier three lockdown.

Also, a further 224 people died with coronavirus in the UK yesterday, while 20,530 new cases were confirmed.
