All of England could be placed under tier three coronavirus restrictions by mid-December, according to a report.
Modelling from Government scientists shows more than 25,000 people will be in hospital with Covid-19 by the end of November, according to The Sun newspaper.
This is higher than in the spring, and leading many to believe that a restriction curb over the festive period could be wishful thinking.
Meanwhile, the UK recorded another 367 coronavirus deaths and 22,885 new cases yesterday.
It’s the highest daily rise in deaths since May 27, when 422 deaths were recorded.
This brings the total death toll to 45,365 and official cases to 917,575.
