Police are searching for two dog walkers after an elderly couple was assaulted in a ‘racially aggravated’ attack in London.
Officers were called to the scene in Regent’s Park on August 13 after reports two women had targeted a man and a woman, both in their 70s.
One of the dogwalkers’ animals is said to have attacked the couple’s two dogs.
A woman, 75, was taken to hospital shortly after 8am after suffering a dog bite on her hand.
A man, 79, was left with cuts and bruising after he was allegedly pushed to the ground and assaulted.
The two dogwalkers are accused of racially abusing the victims during the incident.
They left the scene before officers arrived and there have been no arrests, a Metropolitan Police statement said.
The force has released images of the suspects and are appealing to the public to help identify them.
Police Sergeant John Berry, of the Met’s Royal Parks police, said: ‘The park should be a place where people cann walk their dogs in safety.
‘The level of aggression and violence used towards an elderly couple was shocking and I would appeal to anyone who recognises these women to contact police.’
