A man who befriended a couple so that he could sexually assault their children has been jailed for 18 years.
David Millan, 65, gained the parents’ trust, making them believe he was an honest and decent man, to get to their daughters. He would take pictures of them and abuse them with a prostitute in order ‘to satisfy his depraved sexual fantasies’, Northampton Crown Court was told.
He abused them consecutively, moving on to the next daughter when each one of them managed to stop him. Millan also offered them significant amounts of cash from his mother’s inheritance in a bid to keep them quiet.
Millan denied what he had done when one of his victims came forward, but following a trial at Northampton Crown Court he was found guilty and jailed.
Judge David Herbert said: ‘It’s clear to me you have no shame for what you did and you are entirely without remorse for your actions. Your boasts and actions were shameful and trample on the principle of basic human decency – you should be ashamed by what you did but you clearly never will be.
‘It is also clear to me you have no understanding of the harm you caused to each of these girls.
‘One said it has had a significant effect on her and she’s unable to forget the control you have over her.
‘She’s also uncomfortable around older people, especially men and scared of the future. You took part of her childhood from her.
‘Another said she has nightmares, sleepless nights, stress and epileptic seizures as a result of your abuse.
‘The third feels numb and struggles to talk about it. The impact on all of them can not be fully known but it’s clear it’s significant.’
Detective Sergeant Alison Brayfield said: ‘Millan is a dangerous, predatory sexual deviant who hasn’t expressed a shred of remorse for his actions.
‘I’d like to pay tribute to the courage of his three victims who bravely supported the investigation.
‘I hope that now Millan is behind bars they can move on with their lives while he has plenty of time to reflect on his sickening, abhorrent behaviour.’
