CCTV appeal after poppy box stolen on Remembrance weekend
Do you know this man? Police believe he could help with their investigation

A man is being hunted after a poppy collection box was stolen over Remembrance weekend.

The suspect walked into a butchers on Mill Lane in West Derby, Liverpool, on Saturday morning and took the fundraising pot.

Officers probing the theft have now released a photo of a man they believe could help with their enquiries.

The incident unfolded at 9.30am and a police spokeswoman described the suspect as being a white male with black hair and black framed spectacles on top of his head.

He was wearing a dark-coloured winter coat over a grey-coloured top with a motif on.

The theft came the day before Merseyside stopped to commemorate the fallen, with socially-distanced and virtual tributes taking place across the region.
