At least 50 naked French people were caught having a drug-fuelled sex party in a rented holiday home in Brussels opposite a hospital treating patients with Covid-19.
The cross-border birthday orgy, which took place at a property in the village of Saint-Mard, Virton, was raided by police after receiving noise complaints.
Officers arrived at the gathering – opposite the Edmond-Jacques hospital where coronavirus patients are being treated – at about 3am on Sunday.
They had believed there were about 20 revellers inside but arrived to find more than 50 naked or scarcely dressed French people, including escort girls.
Party-goers are believed to have paid €250 (about £225) each to cover the costs of the orgy thrown for a French woman’s 28th birthday.
And they were forced to hand out a further €250 after police fined them for flouting coronavirus rules, which forbid more than four people gathering indoors.
At least one person was also charged for the possession of narcotics and laughing gas capsules, reported the Brussels Times.
According to local reports, the owner of the property is a Flemish man who was unaware of the party as rent was arranged via a third party.
Mayor of Virton, François Culot, expressed his outrage at the orgy and told local news site La Meuse: ‘I’m angry. Some people really don’t respect anything.
‘Organizing an illegal party in the middle of the night in front of a clinic where Covid patients are treated? This is unacceptable.’
It comes just weeks after right-wing MEP Jozsef Szajer, from Hungary’s anti-LGBT+ Fidesz party, was caught flouting lockdown rules at a gay orgy in Brussels.
He was forced to step down from his role after police broke up the sex party of about 25 people in an apartment in the Belgium capital.
Belgian media reports suggested Szajer tried to escape through a window and escape down a drainpipe and injured himself in the process. It was also alleged he tried to claim diplomatic immunity.
