If you’ve been living off Christmas leftovers for the last week, it might be time for a trip to the shops.

As we’re getting ready to see in 2021, your cupboards may be looking a tad bare, and the ending to a year like 2020 deserves to be celebrated in style – whether that’s with a nice meal at home, a virtual party or some fun festive cocktails.

If you need to pop out before New Years, here’s when Tesco will be open…

What are Tesco’s New Year’s Eve opening times?

Most Tesco Extras, Superstores and Metro stores open at their usual time and close at 7pm.

Express stores will close at 10pm.

Petrol stations shut an hour after the main store closes, and London petrol stations close at 10pm.

However, this might not be the case with all Tesco stores – as always, people should check their local store’s opening hours using the online store locator.

What time does Tesco open on New Year’s Day?

England & Wales Extras, Superstores and Metro stores open 9am and close at 6pm.

Express stores will open 8am and close at 10pm.

Petrol stations will be open 8am to 7pm.

In Scotland, Tesco Extras, Superstores will open 11am and close at 6pm.

Metro and Express stores open 10am to 6pm and petrol stations open 10am to 7pm.

Across Northern Ireland, Tesco Extras, Superstores and Metro stores open 10am to 6pm.
