A man has been charged with murder, attempted murder and GBH after three people were stabbed on the same street across one week.
Amine Laouar, 20, is accused of murdering delivery driver Leon Street, 48, on Neasden Lane North, in London, on January 11. Mr Street, a dad and step-granddad, died from stab injuries to the chest, a post mortem revealed.
Laouar has also been charged with GBH with intent against another victim, 47, who was also knifed on the same road, on the same day.
He is then also accused of attempting to murder a third man, 32, on Neasden Lane North on January 17. The victim was rushed to hospital, and the extent of his injuries is not currently known.
Laouar will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on January 22.
The Met Police previously said they were keeping an open mind about the motive behind the stabbings, and had noted that none of the victims were robbed.
Chief Superintendent Louis Smith, the Met’s North West commander, warned residents in the area to be careful.
He told them at the time: ‘Three stabbings, one of which was fatal, have occurred in Neasden Lane North in the past week, so I am urging residents in that area to be extra vigilant if they are out and about in the coming days.
‘Due to the Covid regulations, the public should only be going outside if it is absolutely essential. However, if residents in the Neasden Lane North area do have to go outside I would urge them to be alert and totally aware of their surroundings.
‘Residents can also be reassured that patrols in the area have been stepped up and they can expect to see increased police visibility in the area.’
