Three Sainsbury’s workers attacked after customer is kicked out of store

A man has been arrested after he was thrown out of the store and three workers were assaulted at a Sainsbury’s branch in London.

Footage taken in Clapham High Street yesterday afternoon showed a customer appear to slap a worker in the face after he had been dragged out of the supermarket.

Moments later, other members of staff drag him to the ground and one appears to punch him.

It is thought the violent altercation began after the man was abusive to staff.

A witness at the scene said: ‘He was shouting but I don’t think it’s fair how he is being handled.

‘He says he hasn’t done anything and isn’t being violent or aggressive, but several security guards tackled him.’

The footage, filmed at around 4pm yesterday, shows the customer having a heated argument with staff members, which quickly escalates into a fight.

The incident allegedly started at the self-checkout counter after a man was ‘abusive’ to staff, according to a female Sainsbury’s team member.
