A woman who was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted by her boyfriend was found after leaving notes in public restrooms that detailed her situation. In one note found by authorities on Saturday, the woman wrote that she had been held hostage since May 1 and pleaded for cops not to give up finding her.
‘If I don’t make it, tell my family I love them,’ read the note found by Pennsylvania State Police in the bathroom of a resort in Fallingwater.
Scott Township police found the woman’s first note two days earlier at a Walmart store in Carnegie. Walmart employees gave cops a handwritten note that was stuck to a mirror in the women’s room that included her name and stated that she was held against her will and sexually and physically abused by Corey Brewer, 38.
The township police went to Brewer’s home but were not able to get in contact with anyone there.
On Friday, officers reached Brewer by phone because they had prior contact with him. They spoke with the woman but the call ended after they found out she could not talk without Brewer listening in.
Next, troopers communicated with the woman’s ex-boyfriend, who said he had not seen her since late April and knew that she had been in a relationship with Brewer. The ex-boyfriend said he was reporting her missing.
Detectives identified the woman and Brewer in surveillance footage in Fallingwater and obtained a search warrant for his home on Sunday. Authorities arrested Brewer and transported the woman to a hospital.
The woman said she did not flee Brewer because he threatened to kill her as well as her children.
Brewer was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, strangulation, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint and simple assault. He posted $500 and was released from jail and back at his Scott Township townhome on Tuesday afternoon, WTAE reported.
