Prince George looked just as shocked as the rest of the nation as England scored just two minutes into its historic showdown with Italy.
The seven-year-old looked at his parents in disbelief before going wild after Luke Shaw drilled home the Three Lions’ first goal.
Crowds around the royals erupted into roars of cheers in the stands at Wembley, as a beaming William and Kate clapped along with their eldest son.
The duchess and George, who is third in line to the throne, shared an adorable moment by wrapping their arms tightly around each other.
Sitting in between his parents, George twinned with his dad by wearing a striped tie and navy suit, while Kate paid tribute to England by donning a white blazer and bright red earrings.
Just moments before, the Cambridges were seen singing God Save the Queen – or ‘God save my gran’ as fans have jokingly renamed it – after taking their seats in the royal box.
Tonight is the second game of the tournament that Prince George has enjoyed in the stands of Wembley, after cheering the Three Lions on to beat Germany 2-0 – prompting social media users to call him the nation’s ‘good luck charm’.
Elsewhere in the stands, Prime Minister Boris Johnson was seen sporting an England t-shirt over a long sleeved shirt as he waved to the crowds along with wife Carrie.
Ahead of the game, the prime minister told the team they have ‘lifted the nation’ as he wished them good luck.
He tweeted: ‘This team has already made history and lifted the spirits of the country. Tonight, they can lift the trophy too.
‘On behalf of the entire nation, good luck @England and bring it home!’
Opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer was spotted posing for selfies with wife Victoria ahead of the game, as he tweeted to England and Gareth Southgate saying ‘the whole country is behind’ them.
