Murder investigation launched after woman dies from severe burns in Bury

Emergency services attended, and found a 31 year old woman had suffered severe burns, and was taken to hospital. Sadly, despite emergency staff's best efforts, she died a short time later. Three men aged 34, 24 and 26 have been arrested in connection with the incident, and remain in custody for questioning. Police aren't looking for anyone else in connection with it. GMP, alongside fire investigators are now working to establish the circumstances around what happened.

Three men have been arrested after a woman died in hospital after suffering severe burns at an address in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to the property in East Street, Bury, just after 7.30pm on Friday to reports a woman had been badly injured.

The 31-year-old was rushed to hospital with severe burns but died a short while later, despite emergency staff’s best efforts.

Three men aged 34, 24 and 26 have been arrested in connection with the murder investigation and remain in custody for questioning.

Greater Manchester Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.

Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Clegg said: ‘This is a truly devastating incident, in which a woman has tragically lost her life.

‘I would like to reassure the public that we believe this is an isolated incident, and there will be an increased emergency services presence in the area as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death.

‘Although we have made arrests, our investigation is still in its early stages, and we’re following a number of lines of inquiry.’
