While this August hasn’t been the driest or the warmest – there is hope yet for bank holiday Monday.

Forecasters are predicting sunshine today across the UK, with the Met Office predicting ‘mostly dry weather, with sunny spells, best in the west where it will be warm or very warm.’

It won’t exactly be a heatwave, but the weather should be good enough for picnics in the park or barbecues in the garden.

But how will the shop opening times be affected should you need to run out for supplies?
