Is there anything better than Sunday lunch?

The crispy roast potatoes, the glossy veggies and either a succulent piece of meat or a sweet-and-savoury nut roast.

It’s heaven on a plate.

But what if we told you a new job opportunity will not only encourage you to eat the delightful meal but also pay you for your time.

Bar and restaurant chain The Botanist is looking for a ‘Pro-tato Tester’ to give their verdict on potatoes, yorkies and meat before they’re served up to the general public.

The role has come about in order to test the restaurant’s new ‘family-style sharing roasts’, which include a board of sides for everyone at the table, with cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, creamed cabbage, stuffing balls and more.

These are served with a choice of individual main: sirloin beef, chicken, lamb shoulder or pork belly – or a vegan celeriac, mushroom and pearl barley wellington.

The chosen candidate will get to sample the restaurant’s new Sunday lunch to ensure it is at its best and will be paid £500 for their services – plus they’ll be offered a monthly roast for two.

They can also bring five others along with them to a tasting session on September 19.

It’s worth pointing out that along with feasting on tasty trimmings, the job requires a 500-word written review of the roast dinner, or for a video to be made for TikTok and Instagram.

An advert on the website reads: ‘If you know what makes a special spud or a how-to build roast worth a boast, then we have got the perfect weekend job for you.

‘We’re on the hunt for a paid roast reviewer who will make sure our new sharing roast is always share-worthy’

Tempted by the tasty vacancy?

Applications can be made on the website and close on September 12.
