As any fan of Apple products knows by now, there is always a new upgrade or add-on that will come along to tempt money out of your pockets.
While the recent Apple event introduced the next iPhones, iPads and MacBooks, the company proved that there’s more up their sleeves with the launch of iCloud+.
With additional space for your documents, photos, videos and more, it could be the perfect solution for someone running out of room for their online assets.
Here’s all you need to know about the new storage upgrade.
What is iCloud+?
As you may have guessed from its title, iCloud+ is a new variation of Apple’s storage programme, iCloud, available on iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.
Though Apple users are automatically able to access 5GB of free iCloud storage, it’s possible to subscribe to a monthly plan that will offer more.
iCloud+ is available with 50GB, 200GB and 2TB worth of storage. As well as this, signing up for one of the paid packages will also give users access to perks such as being able to hide your email address, use of a custom email domain and HomeKit Secure Video support.
If you were already paying for iCloud storage, then there won’t be much difference to your experience – iCloud+ is simply a way to differentiate between the standard, free storage option and the paid versions.
How much does iCloud+ cost?
iCloud+ features are all included with existing iCloud plans at no additional cost. That means, in the UK, iCloud+ is priced at:
- 50GB with one HomeKit Secure Video camera for £0.79 per month
- 200GB with up to five HomeKit Secure Video cameras for £2.49 per month
- 2TB with an unlimited number of HomeKit Secure Video cameras for £6.99 per month
