Inspiration can come from the most unlikely of places, and for those wanting an idyllic holiday destination right here in the UK, look no further than… Netflix.

Netflix’s hit series Sex Education – which recently returned for its third season – has many things going for it: a great cast (including recent Emmy winner Gillian Anderson), a progressive run of storylines and the dreamiest of filming locations.

The home in which Jean (Gillian Anderson) and Otis (Asa Butterfield) live in has become the true breakout star from the show – with its dreamy views of sprawling land mixed with the property’s cosy-but-luxurious chalet vibes.

But just whereabouts is it? Is it a real house and can you book to stay there?

Where is the house from Sex Education?

The house – known as The Chalet – is located in Symonds Yat, a village in the Wye Valley.

A popular tourist destination, the Wye Valley straddles the River Wye in the county of Herefordshire.

The website for The Chalet writes: ‘Explore the cinematic Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. Step out of the garden onto footpaths, cycle trails and the riverside for wild swimming, canoeing and fishing.’

In addition to the bucolic beauty of the surroundings, The Chalet boasts five bedrooms, a conservatory, sheltered patio and a pizza oven.

Other amenities include a play frame and summer house with secret cinema and dartboard.

Lucky guests at The Chalet can also take the steps which lead straight to the river, with local canoe hire available.

How to stay in the Sex Education house

If you’ve been sold by the picturesque settings and luxury amenities, the good news is you can book The Chalet.
