A man is suing a psychic for fraud, alleging she falsely promised she could remove a witch’s curse apparently put on him by his ex-girlfriend, for the small price of $5,100.

Mauro Restrepo, of Los Angeles, California, sought out help with his marriage, and after a Google search for psychics on September 17, he settled on Sophia Adams, whose website states she is a ‘PhD Life Coach’.

‘This made plaintiff more confident that he was speaking with a professional that could help him,’ states the lawsuit filed last Friday in Torrance Superior Court.

But that wasn’t the case, according to Restrepo, who seeks at least $25,000 in compensatory damages, plus punitive damages after Adams’ services did not help his marriage in any way.

During a tarot card reading, Adams told Restrepo he had ‘mala suerte’, or ‘bad luck’, the suit alleges.

Adams then informed him that an ex-girlfriend of his had hired a witch to place a curse on him.

Unless Adams removed the curse, Restrepo and his family would be ‘unhappy and in danger’, she had told him.

If the curse wasn’t removed, it would ruin Restrepo, his children and his marriage. Adams told him she would need $5,100 to remove it, so he gave a $1,000 down payment.

‘Despite (Adams’) promises, (she) did not in any way help (Restrepo’s) marriage,’ the suit states,

As a result, Restrepo has suffered from anxiety and anguish, and has had countless of nights without sleep.

The lawsuit also alleges that Adams utilizes her business to bring harm onto others in the community by taking advantage of clients.

He names Adams’ business Psychic Love Specialist by Sophia, Adams’ husband, daughter and the landlords of her business in the suit, alleging they all knew she was wrongfully using her role to take advantage of clients and did nothing to stop her.
