Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer’s shake-up of his top team has been unveiled.

Yvette Cooper has made a comeback to the Labour frontbench as the new shadow home secretary.

Another key role has gone to David Lammy who has been promoted to shadow foreign secretary.

He replaces Lisa Nandy, who will leave her position as shadow foreign secretary to become shadow secretary of state for levelling up.

There were rumours shadow international trade secretary Emily Thornberry could be moved to shadow home secretary – but she will replace Lord Falconer as shadow attorney general.

Meanwhile, shadow housing minister Lucy Powell has been promoted to become shadow secretary of state for culture.

She takes the job of Jo Stevens who announced earlier she will become shadow secretary of state for Wales.
