A girl has died after an e-scooter she was riding crashed with a van in east London.
The victim, believed to be just 14 years old, was treated at the scene in Newham, London.
But paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were unable to save her.
Her family has been informed of the tragedy, which happened around 1.30pm on Green Street.
The van driver is with police but has not been arrested, the Metropolitan Police said.
Roads were closed in the area following the incident and are yet to reopen.
Officers have urged anyone with information to come forward.
E-scooter crashes jumped almost 2,800% in the capital in the first half of 2021 compared to the whole of 2018, figures released in January revealed.
There were 258 collisions in the first six months of last year compared to nine in 2018, Met Police data shows.
