This is the moment a cyclist is confronted with a foul-mouthed and abusive tirade for confronting a driver for overtaking too closely.
Wearing his helmet camera, Dave Sherry can be heard saying ‘that ain’t 1.5 metres is it?’ as the car passes him in Walthamstow, north London.
He manages to catch up with the driver, and asks him: ‘Is that how you overtake a cyclist?’
Dave points out that there was a cycle lane that he wasn’t using, but the cyclist states that by law it is ‘not compulsory’ for him to ride in it.
The driver then launches an abusive rant, calling him everything under the sun, to which the cyclist tells him: ‘See you in court’.
Threats of being prosecuted for abusive behaviour didn’t seem to faze the motorist, who called Dave a ‘prick’, adding: ‘Mate, you go and f**k yourself’.
Dave gives him one more chance to apologise, to which the driver says: ‘I couldn’t give a f***!’
According to the Cycling Embassy of Great Britain: ‘A cycle lane marked by a solid (unbroken) white line.
‘It is ‘mandatory’ in the sense that drivers of motor vehicles are not permitted to enter it, rather than being mandatory for cyclists to use it.
‘Drivers are not permitted to cross the unbroken white line.’
It comes after another cyclist in central London recently captured a near-miss he had with a driver who pulled in without checking his mirrors.
The cyclist is heard saying: ‘You f****ing stupid c**t! You f***ing stupid c**t! You f***ing idiot! Are you f***ing blind?’
When the driver gets out of his car to check the damage, the cyclist shouts: ‘Woah, woah, why are you bothered about your car, you nearly f***ing maimed me!’
