A massive winter storm swept across much of the US over Christmas weekend, killing at least 60 people with about half of them in Buffalo, New York, where looters added to the chaos.

Multiple videos circulating social media showed home and cars buried in snow, and criminals taking advantage of the crisis situation to steal an array of items from stores.

A video on Storyful showed several clips of the brutal wintry scene across the US. The wind topped shopping carts and dragged them across the snow. Roads were covered in white and the snow piled several feet high up a home.

Another scene showed firefighters trudging over snow to fight a building blaze.

An aerial view showed a city blanketed in white. State trooper vehicles lifted cars stuck under mounds of snow and lined them up along a street.

A video from the Buffalo Police Department shows a store with items knocked off the shelves. A few aisles have goods covering the entire path. Some shelves are completely cleared out and boxes lay empty on the ground.

In another clip of a dark room, possibly a storage section, a flashlight reveals items strewn across the ground and boxes pilfered through.

In another video, about a dozen people are seen walking in the snow outside buildings with Chirstmas lights and vehicles topped with snows. A couple of gunshots are heard near the end.
