A woman killed in a car crash on Christmas Day has been named by police.

Maria Carolina Do Nascimento Migel, 22, from Brazil, died after the car she was travelling in was involved in a crash along the Hendon Way by Brent Cross in northwest London shortly before 4am last Sunday.

The collision happened after officers on patrol indicated for a car to stop, only for the vehicle to drive off unpursued.

A short time later police were informed the same car had been involved in a collision with another.

Four men were later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and fleeing the scene of a collision after making off on foot.

London Ambulance Service attended the crash site but, despite their best efforts, Ms Migel sadly died at the scene.

The male driver in the same car as her suffered a head injury but the Metropolitan Police have said his condition is not serious.

After being informed of her death, Ms Migel’s family have paid tribute to their ‘beloved daughter’ and ‘little star’ and have posted a GoFundMe in order to raise money for her body to be flown to Brazil.

In a statement posted to the fundraising page, the family wrote: ‘Our dear Princess Mary tragically passed away this Christmas morning in a car accident in London, England.

‘Respecting her mother’s wishes, she would like to bring her body back to Brazil so that she can rest in her hometown and be close to her entire family.

‘Thank you to everyone who helped us exceed the estimate for our beloved daughter Maria, our little star.

Also to everyone who sent messages remembering beautiful memories. Our princess is very loved!’
