Donald Trump talked over debate moderator Chris Wallace at the beginning of the the first presidential debate against Joe Biden.

President Trump told the Fox News host: ‘First of all, I guess I’m debating you, not him. But that’s okay. I’m not surprised.’

The president has previously hit out at Wallace – a host at his favorite right-wing network Fox News – after the journalist grilled him about coronavirus during a White House interview during the summer.

They talked over each other about healthcare, with Wallace attempting to get a question out over the president.

‘Let me ask my question,’ Wallace said.

Trump continued to speak over him, continuing to stammer about how his administration takes care of people with preexisting conditions.

Wallace continued, ‘You have promised to repeal and replace Obamacare but you have never come up with a plan.’

‘Of course I have,’ Trump said. ‘I got rid of the individual mandate.’

‘I am the moderator of this debate and I would like you to let me ask my question,’ Wallace was heard to say as Trump and Biden spent minutes talking over one another in an increasingly cantankerous tone.

‘In the course of these four years, you have never come up with a comprehenseive plant to replace Obamacare,’ Wallace said. ‘So my question sir is, what is the Trump healthcare plan?’

Trump immediately put the blame on Biden, coming up with a line about how the Democratic nominee can’t get the ‘cheap as water’ insulin prices that the president can get.

Tuesday’s debate also saw Biden and Trump argue about coronavirus, the economy, law and order and Trump’s proposed new Supreme Court nominee.
