Dad stabbed 21 times in his own home is fighting for his life in coma

A father-of-six is fighting for his life in a coma after being stabbed 21 times.

The victim, 43, suffered knife wounds to his head, ear, chest and arm in the sickening attack inside his home on Wednesday.

His attackers fled the property in Acocks Green, Birmingham, and are still on-the-run.

It is understood the victim has been in a coma at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital since the attack and underwent surgery to stitch up five stab wounds to his arm.

A source said: ‘Police know who it was and haven’t done nothing about it, or posted anything about it, or gone to get him.

‘21 stab wounds – nine to his head and ear, three to his chest and others over his body. He is in a coma at the Queen Elizabeth hospital.

‘Collapsed lungs, punctured lung, stabbed in his main artery, and he had surgery to stitch up five stab wounds on his arm today.’

West Midlands Police said it had identified a number of suspects and attempts to arrest them are under way.

Anyone who has information on the brutal stabbing is urged to get in touch with the force.

‘We are investigating a stabbing at a property Arden Road in Birmingham just before 1pm on Wednesday 30 September,’ a force spokesperson said.

‘A 43-year-old man was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds and remains there in a serious but stable condition.

‘A number of suspects have been identified and arrest attempts are under way.’
