Since November 5, England has been in a national lockdown – and the picture is similar across the rest of the UK, with Wales having been in a firebreak lockdown from October 23 to November 9 and Scotland imposing a tougher 5-tier system.
So, while travel to far off horizons is temporarily grounded, the hope is that winter sun might not be off the cards for everyone.
This glimmer of hope comes after eight destinations were added to England’s quarantine-free travel list – the travel corridors – in the latest update from transport secretary Grant Shapps.
With the next two weeks considered ‘crucial’ for ending the lockdown on the proposed date of December 2, where can people in the UK start to consider travelling to if things go well?

However, despite being on the list of travel corridors – meaning you will not need to self-isolate after visiting – some of these might be refusing entry to tourists.
Entry to Australia is closed, for example, except for Australian citizens and permanent residents or those with an exemption.
So before you go out and book your winter sun, check the up-to-date criteria for your chosen destinations first.
These travel corridors apply to travellers coming to and from England – for Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, check the latest government advice as restrictions may differ.
