A Deliveroo driver has been sacked after calling a disabled customer a ‘stupid white b**stard’, telling him to ‘suck your mom’, and saying he was going to keep his order for himself.

Matt Dutton, 24, is visually impaired and relies on deliveries for food and other essentials.

He tried to use the Deliveroo app to get £50 of groceries from Aldi last Tuesday.

But messages show how he was left confused when the driver began demanding a ‘delivery code’ while he was en route to drop off the items.

When Matt said he only had an order number, the rude Deliveroo worker flew into a rage and told him to ‘f**k off’.

NHS Track and Trace worker Matt laughed in confusion and repeated his address, however the driver told him he was ‘not coming’ and used the racial slur.

The driver even goaded Matt to ‘make sure you tell Deliveroo’, claiming he didn’t care and bragging ‘I’m going to keep your order’.

The message exchange

This came after the driver apparently asked for a delivery code and Matt said he didn’t know how to find it.

Driver: ‘I think on your email.’

Matt: ‘I have an order number #6454 but that’s all I have.’

Driver: ‘Ok f**k off then.’

Matt: ‘What Hahahahahaha.’

Driver: ‘I’m not kidding lad.’

Matt: ‘What f**king Deliveroo code would I get I’ve never got a code in my life just come to [street name redacted].’

Driver: ‘I’m not coming you f**king white stupid bastrd.’

Matt: “Hahahahaha aren’t ye na lad. Sweet inabit your income then innit lad..’

Driver: ‘Make sure you tell Deliveroo because I don’t give a f**k.
‘Go suck your mom now.’

Matt: ‘Well am gonna f**kin have to aren’t I dkhead cos you’ve just got off with £50’s worth of me scran ye crab. Suck yer mom are you messing.’

Driver: ‘I’m going to keep your order.’

Deliveroo said they take a ‘zero tolerance approach to any form of discrimination or harassment’ and claimed the rider was ‘terminated with immediate effect’.

Matt, from Liverpool, said: “I was completely stunned and my first reaction was to laugh.

‘I wasn’t upset but I was so shocked and frustrated because I rely on these services to get my food shopping because I’m disabled.

‘It was my weekly shop so all the regular stuff, milk, bread, floor wipes and bleach.

‘I was trying to stock up because I’m visually impaired and it’s hard for me to get out to the shops.

‘The driver did the shop then on his way to mine he asked if I had a code to give to him for an extra security precaution.

‘I don’t know if it’s a new Deliveroo thing but I didn’t have a code in my emails or anything.

‘Aldi is only about 15 minutes away. He got halfway to mine and decided he couldn’t be bothered.’

PIC FROM Kennedy News and Media (PICTURED: THE MESSAGE EXCHANGE BETWEEN MATT DUTTON, 24, AND THE NOW-SACKED DELIVEROO DRIVER WHO SWIPED HIS SHOPPING) A Deliveroo driver has been sacked after swiping a disabled customer's weekly shop - then branding him a 'stupid white bast*rd' when he complained. Deliveroo have promised to reimburse Matt for his order and gave him £50 in credit, which he spent on a takeaway.

Matt said: ‘Shopping at Aldi, you can get a lot of food for £50 and I’d really stocked up on food and cleaning stuff so I didn’t have to go out again.

‘I still don’t have any food in and I’m going to have to send a friend out to get my food shop for me.

‘I’m really not happy with his conduct or the fact that I didn’t get my shopping.

‘I just think it’s completely unfair.

‘I absolutely sympathise with the gig economy and high pressure, highly stressful nature of this job, but the people you affect are not always just lazy people who fancy a takeaway.

‘These services are hugely beneficial to the disabled community and I wish there were more consideration for us.

‘I don’t expect special treatment, but the correct treatment would be a start.’

A Deliveroo spokesperson said: ‘Deliveroo takes a zero tolerance approach to any form of discrimination or harassment.

‘The incident was dealt with urgently by our escalation team and the rider was terminated with immediate effect.’
