One of the first big new Lego sets for 2023 is an amazing looking three-storey jazz club, including a full band and a pizzeria next door.
Christmas may be the most likely time of the year to receive Lego as a gift, but January is one of the busiest times for new releases, with several new sets due to launch almost as soon as Big Ben has stopped chiming.
One of the biggest so far is the Lego Icons Jazz Club set, which is what adult fans would refer to as a modular building – one that can attach and be displayed next to other similar sets, such as the Boutique Hotel and Police Station.
The Jazz Club looks to be the most interesting design of the lot, though, with a neat period design featuring room for the band, seating for the audience, and a changing room for the musicians.
The building next door is a pizzeria, complete with pizza oven, but there’s also a tailor’s workshop and a rooftop greenhouse – including a new red squirrel piece.
There’s also eight minifigures included in the set: a jazz singer, bassist, drummer, pizza chef, pizza delivery driver, club manager, tailor, and a magician (featuring a rabbit and top hat, naturally).
All the floors can be taken apart for easy access and there’s also a road section out front that connects to other modular buildings, if you have them – including a little outside table and chairs for the pizzeria.
The Jazz Club is set number 10312 and costs £199.99 for 2,899 pieces. That’s very good value for money for so many pieces, which is often the case for non-licensed sets like this.
The new set will be available from Lego stores and the official website from January 4 or you can get early access as a VIP member from January 1. To become a VIP member is free, you just need to sign up here first.
