After a difficult year for most, Christmas is finally here – a welcome chance to unwind and relax.

However, you might need to post something out to a friend or relative, or pick up a missed delivery which could mean a last-minute trip to the post office is on the cards.

If you think you might need to pop to the post office this festive season, here’s when it’ll be open…

What are the Post Office opening hours this Christmas?

Christmas Eve: Each branch will be open at different times, with hours usually varying between 7:30am to 6pm, and 8:30am to 6:30pm.

The official advice listed on the Post Office’s website states that, in addition to different hours by branch, ‘opening times can change at short notice. This may be in order to deep clean or due to staff shortages.’

It is best to check what branches are open near you using their online Branch Finder tool.

Christmas Day: All branches will be closed on Christmas Day.

Boxing Day: All branches will be closed on Boxing Day.

Normal hours for many branches might not resume until Tuesday, December 29, as December 28 is a bank holiday, so check the opening times for your nearby branches online.
